Bradley Craig Owings 

Bradley Craig Owings, age 24, of Murphysboro, formerly of Pinckneyville, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008, as a result of a motorcycle accident. 

Brad was born on October 2, 1983 in Pinckneyville, to Danny Ray and Lynnea (Ray) Owings. He joined the United States Marine Corps where he was a Sergeant and worked as an airframe mechanic. Brad proudly served his country doing three tours in Iraq. After leaving the Marines, he remained an active duty reservist.  Brad was currently attending classes at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, majoring in Criminal Justice. He attended Beaucoup Baptist Church. Brads favorite pastimes were cars, especially corvettes and riding four- wheelers. 

Brad is survived by his mother: Lynnea of Pinckneyville, grandmothers: Mildred Owings of Du Quoin, and Sandra Ray of North Carolina , one brother: Richie (Shannon) Owings of Pinckneyville, one sister: Stacie (Jason) Dunihoo of Pinckneyville, girlfriend: Chelsea Hagene of Pinckneyville, two nieces: Elizabeth and Olivia Owings, two uncles: Brian (Shawna) Owings of Du Quoin, and Kevin Ray of North Carolina, one aunt: Diana (Ed) Emig of Minnesota, cousins: Savana Owings and Nicole Owings of Du Quoin, and Erica (Chris) White and their two children Jackson and Campbell of Minnesota. 

He was preceded in death by his father: Danny Owings, grandfathers: Ray Owings and Richard Ray. 

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Tuesday July 1, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, DuQuoin. Military grave side rites will be performed by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville. 

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday June 30, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. 

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or Lupus Foundation of America.
